Caifanes confirmed their status as one of the most influential bands in Mexican rock by bringing together 65,000 people at a completely sold-out GNP Stadium, on a night where music, nostalgia, and social messages marked every moment of the show.
From their first appearance on stage, the group, led by Saúl Hernández, surprised the audience by wearing the jersey of the Mexican National Soccer Team, whose squad recently adopted “Aquí No Es Así” (It’s Not Like That Here) as their anthem before their match against England in the World Cup.
The ovation was immediate. Thousands of voices accompanied each song, confirming that Caifanes’ legacy remains alive among different generations of fans.
After performing “Miedo” (Fear), Saúl Hernández thanked the audience with a message that sparked another ovation.
“Thank you so much, it’s a complete sell-out; we continue making history. The applause is for you and for Caifanes.” The energy continued with “Aviéntame,” a song the singer dedicated to new Mexican bands. “The formula is to play and believe in yourself,” he said, encouraging young musicians to pursue their projects.
One of the most moving moments for the audience came with “Antes de que nos olviden” (Before They Forget Us).
Before beginning the performance, Hernández acknowledged the struggle of women and offered words of gratitude.
“Thank you to all the women for showing us a path of justice, evolution, and peace.”
He then explained that the song was dedicated to the mothers and fathers searching for their missing loved ones, who continue to travel the country.
The singer pointed out that these families perform a task that often falls to the authorities, prompting a long ovation from the audience, who illuminated the stadium with their cell phone lights.
