Agents from the State Citizen Security Force (FESC) and personnel from the Secretariat of National Defense arrested two Colombian citizens last Thursday, May 28, in the Ejido Estación Coahuila area of the Mexicali Valley, following an anonymous tip received via the 089 hotline.
The arrested individuals were identified as Darwin Ferney “N”—alias “El Zarco”—a 35-year-old native of Villavicencio, Colombia, and Alexander “N,” a 33-year-old native of Bogotá.
Both men were linked to a criminal cell active in the region, though no further details regarding the group were disclosed.
Authorities stated that at the time of their arrest, one of the subjects was carrying a Glock 19 pistol tucked into his waistband. In addition to the firearm, officers seized four loaded magazines containing 9mm and 7.62x39mm ammunition, as well as a plastic container holding several tire-puncturing devices.
According to official records, the two vehicles that the detainees claimed as their own were found to have been reported stolen in the United States.
