Carlo Ancelotti dispelled any doubts regarding Neymar’s participation in the 2026 World Cup, assuring that the forward will be available to represent Brazil despite the muscle injury currently keeping him sidelined. The Italian strategist expressed total confidence in the footballer’s recovery and highlighted his commitment during the *Canarinha’s* training camp.

In a press conference held in Teresópolis—prior to the friendly match between Brazil and Panama at the Maracanã Stadium—Ancelotti affirmed that Neymar is part of the team’s plans for the World Cup. The coach noted that there is a possibility the attacker could be ready for the opening match against Morocco, or failing that, for the second fixture against Haiti.

The former Real Madrid manager made it clear that the call-up of the number 10 was never in doubt. “Neymar is going to be with us,” the strategist asserted, also reiterating that all 26 summoned players are expected to participate in the global tournament to be hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Neymar’s presence sparked debate in the days leading up to the announcement of the final squad list, due to physical issues he had been carrying since his time with Santos. Although the Brazilian club initially reported that the player was suffering only from edema, the national team’s medical staff conducted further examinations and detected a Grade II muscle injury in his right calf.

According to the medical report from the Brazilian Football Confederation, the estimated recovery time ranges from two to three weeks. This situation compelled the coaching staff to implement a specific training regimen to accelerate the forward’s return without compromising his physical condition.
Ancelotti explained that the Brazilian national team took charge of the player’s recovery once the national training camp began. Furthermore, he highlighted the attitude Neymar has displayed during this period, assuring that the player remains motivated and focused on returning to competitive action as soon as possible.
