With Juan Carlos Valencia González—alias “El 03” or “El Pelón”—rising to a leadership role within the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), questions have mounted regarding the man who, for years, maintained a far lower profile than his stepfather, Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, known as “El Mencho.”
One of the main areas of speculation concerns his family life. Organizational charts and photographs circulating on social media and specialized forums attribute at least four children and an ex-wife to him.
This information circulates on platforms like Reddit and X accounts dedicated to tracking figures in the drug trade, though it remains unconfirmed by Mexican or US authorities. A family chart shared in these spaces identifies “El Pelón’s” children as Juan Carlos González Cabrera (alias “Bruce”), Jimena González Cabrera (alias “Jime”), and two younger daughters whose first names are unknown.
Additionally, he is said to have been married to Hilda Yuridia Cabrera Valencia—a name with a history within the ranks of the cartel.
Valencia González is known by various aliases, including El Pelón, El 03, El R-3, El Pelacas, El JP, and Tricky Tres. His half-brother, Rubén Oseguera González (“El Menchito”)—El Mencho’s biological son—was originally designated as the cartel’s heir prior to his arrest, extradition to the United States, and sentencing to life imprisonment in March 2025.
On his mother’s side, Valencia González is the nephew of Abigael González Valencia, leader of Los Cuinis—an organization described by the DEA as the most economically powerful group within Mexican organized crime. Another maternal uncle, José María González Valencia, currently manages a ranch in Hemet, California; the kingpin himself purchased the property in 2011 under the name “Juan Carlos González,” omitting the surname Valencia.
The name of Hilda Yuridia Cabrera Valencia—identified in network organizational charts as the partner or ex-wife of “El 03″—appeared in a 2022 court file concerning Rosalinda González Valencia. In that case, Cabrera Valencia was identified as a business partner of El 03’s mother in the company JJGON S.P.R. de R.L. de C.V., part of a network of 73 individuals and corporate entities allegedly used by “El Mencho” to launder assets.
Rosalinda has a legal history of her own. The Navy arrested her on May 26, 2018, in Zapopan, Jalisco, on money laundering charges; she was released on bail after posting a 1.5-million-peso bond. She failed to comply with conditions requiring periodic check-ins and prohibiting her from leaving the country, leading to her re-arrest on November 15 of that same year, also in Zapopan.
In 2022, a federal court excluded testimony from three protected witnesses for the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) and three Federal Ministerial Police agents during Rosalinda’s money laundering trial. Magistrate Fernando Issac Ibarra Gómez ruled that the prosecution had failed to submit the witnesses’ anonymity status for judicial review—a mandatory requirement for the testimony to be valid as evidence. According to the case file, these statements concerned surveillance conducted at properties linked to Jessica Johana Oseguera González (El Mencho’s daughter) and to Rosalinda’s partners in JJGON, including Cabrera Valencia herself, María Isabel Valencia Torres, and Mayra Marín Gutiérrez Ochoa.
