A house belonging to Sinaloa’s governor on leave, Rubén Rocha Moya—located in the Las Quintas neighborhood of Culiacán, Sinaloa—was shot at early this Saturday morning, leaving visible bullet marks on its façade.
According to reports from local media, the residence is situated on Lago de Cuitzeo Street within the aforementioned neighborhood and was purchased by the politician—a member of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) party—in 1984. He lived there with his family until moving to a gated community on Isla Musala.
Reports indicate that armed men arrived at the scene and fired repeatedly at the front of the house.
The property is a three-story, white-painted structure situated across from a park. The house has been uninhabited since 2021, when Rocha Moya won the election and was elected governor of the state.
According to the media outlet *Debate*, one of the governor’s sons had been living in the house up until that time. Witnesses stated that an armed group arrived at the location and unleashed fire from high-powered rifles against the property, causing severe damage. As of now, there are no reports of any injuries.
