A video that began circulating on social media captures the moment when armed men open fire on the residence of Governor-on-leave Rubén Rocha Moya, located in the Las Quintas neighborhood of Culiacán.
The footage reveals the involvement of at least four individuals.
In broad daylight—and in one of Culiacán’s most well-known residential areas—an armed group attacked the home owned by Governor-on-leave Rubén Rocha Moya this Saturday morning.
The incident was captured in a video lasting just 17 seconds, which subsequently began to spread across social media platforms. The footage shows a vehicle approaching the residence—located on Lago de Cuitzeo Street in the Las Quintas neighborhood—while one of the occupants records the scene from inside the vehicle.
Based on the video’s content, at least four individuals were involved: a driver, two armed men who fired high-powered rifles at the building’s facade, and another individual who recorded the attack using a cell phone. The recording shows the car slowing down in front of the property, immediately followed by the sound of gunfire. The bullets strike the home’s white facade, kicking up dust and sending fragments of the wall flying as the vehicle continues to move forward.
Hours later, the Sinaloa State Secretariat of Public Security confirmed the attack, reporting that the incident was reported at 10:12 a.m. via the C4i emergency center.
The agency clarified that the house had been uninhabited for over 10 years and that no one was injured during the attack.
