Following an operation involving personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office and the Secretariat of Citizen Security on the afternoon of Friday, September 4, the Jireh Rehabilitation Clinic—located in Ejido Mariano Matamoros—was suspended by the State Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (COEPRIS). This action followed the killing of a man at the center’s facilities on August 21.
Around 8:00 PM, a banner and suspension seals were placed at the center—a temporary health safety measure that partially halts the establishment’s activities due to the authorities detecting a public health risk or an administrative violation.
A source from the Secretariat of Citizen Security told *ZETA* that the establishment has five days to bring its operations into compliance and to remove any residents who are there without their own consent or that of a family member.
During the operation, one of the bodyguards for Jesús Ignacio Osuna Torres—known as “El Chiquilín”—was arrested for carrying a weapon with an irregular permit.
On August 21, a man identified as Richard Damián was killed by strangulation; he had also sustained 38 blows to his body.
Prior to the operation, Jesús Ignacio Osuna Torres (“El Chiquilín”)—who identified himself as a representative of the “Spiritual Patrol”—announced the potential closure via a live stream, noting that the intervention of state and federal security authorities was expected.
According to Osuna Torres, the order to close the Jireh rehabilitation center was issued under the instructions of Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, even though he maintained that the clinic possessed the necessary documentation to operate.
He also asked the governor not to relocate the residents—whom he referred to as “Tazos Dorados”—arguing that the individuals responsible for the incidents at the clinic had already been arrested. “I am aware that things happened, but there are guilty parties, and those individuals will face the legal process in prison. Do not remove the ‘Tazos Dorados’ from the rehabilitation clinic. Give me—or give the clinic’s owners, Padrino Alexis and Madrina Sandra—the chance to get everything in order,” the speaker commented in the video.
The clinic’s suspension follows a court ruling issued on September 3, which resulted in formal charges and pretrial detention for two men accused of the murder of Richard Damián. That incident took place on August 21 inside the Jireh Rehabilitation Clinic.
