While early reports suggested the involvement of an “armed commando,” the release of security camera footage has clarified the facts: the attack was perpetrated by a single individual who acted with extreme coldness. *Narco-Trafficking News*

The video footage shows the hitman appearing to be engaged in a conversation on a cell phone. Without arousing suspicion, the subject approached his first target and fired at point-blank range at two women who were standing on the sidewalk.

Immediately afterward, the attacker aimed at a parked SUV, firing at two other women who remained inside the vehicle. The entire event unfolded in a matter of seconds, after which the hitman walked away from the scene, taking advantage of the chaos and initial panic among the merchants and residents in the vicinity of the Rafael Buelna market.

The toll of this targeted attack was four women executed; it has been confirmed that among the deceased were a mother and her daughter.

The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) has confirmed that the investigative file remains open and forensic analyses are being conducted under the protocol for femicide, in order to determine whether the motive for the crime was gender-related or a settling of scores within the context of the violence plaguing the region. *Politics in Mexico*

Security deployments in the central sector of Culiacán remain reinforced, while forensic experts analyze the video footage frame by frame to map the perpetrator’s escape route and achieve his full identification.
