Influencer César Gastélum was murdered last night outside a KFC restaurant, located a few meters from the Sinaloa State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) in the city of Culiacán.

The content creator was attacked while live streaming in the Tres Ríos area, one of the busiest sectors of the state capital.

Gastélum was live streaming on the Kick platform, under the alias or channel “compasexor” (related to cesargastelum57), which became unavailable after the influencer’s murder.

Around 8:00 p.m., the tranquility of the Tres Ríos Urban Development, north of Culiacán, was shattered by the sound of multiple gunshots.

What began as a typical day of creating content for social media ended in a tragedy that left thousands of followers on digital platforms stunned.

The crime scene was the parking lot of a well-known fast-food restaurant located on Sánchez Alonso Boulevard, near the corner of Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez Street, next to a Parisina department store.

At that location, César Gastélum was live-streaming for his followers. According to preliminary reports, the young man was not alone; he was accompanied by two other people with whom he collaborated on recording content for his Instagram and TikTok accounts.

The victim, of slender build and light brown complexion, was wearing a striking fluorescent orange long-sleeved shirt, dark blue jeans, and white sneakers at the time of the attack.

The Tres Ríos area, known for its shopping centers, restaurants, and government offices—including its proximity to the Attorney General’s Office (FGE) facilities—was quickly placed under a large security perimeter.

The Last Video: “Quick, Waiting for an Order”

In the recovered video footage of his final moments, the nature of the content Gastélum created is evident. In the audio, he can be heard repeatedly saying phrases like, “Let’s go quickly… I’m at the office here waiting for an order near Cuatro Ríos.” During the recording, he also mentions delivery-related activities, asking for help locating addresses like “near Loma Rodriguera” while referring to a “triple meat burger.”

His orange clothing and the language used in his videos initially caused confusion among authorities and witnesses, who at first reported the execution of a food delivery driver. However, his followers and friends quickly confirmed that it was the influencer himself, who used these kinds of activities and impersonations as part of his entertainment style.

Who was “Cesarín,” the influencer with 500,000 followers? César Gastélum was not unknown to the youth of Sinaloa. The young man, with a slender build and light brown complexion, had built a solid digital career. On TikTok, his main platform, he had over 578,000 followers, while his YouTube channel boasted more than 16,000 subscribers and nearly 200 published videos.

His content was characterized by its variety and reflection of the regional lifestyle, ranging from mountain adventures and sports car features to family vlogs from the ranch. Recently, he had ventured into more intimate formats, such as mini-podcasts where he reflected on his friendships, and he hosted multi-day livestream marathons, demonstrating a strong commitment to his community.
