Los Angeles County residents using CalFresh can now subscribe to fresh produce deliveries through a new local service designed to improve healthy food access.

But a new program launching in Los Angeles County offers something different.
Beginning July 24, Food Access LA introduced a specialized service that allows eligible households to use their CalFresh EBT benefits to receive farm-fresh produce boxes delivered directly from local farms to their homes.
The program is designed to help residents who face transportation, mobility, or scheduling barriers that make visiting farmers markets difficult.
For seniors, students, working parents, and people with disabilities, it could make healthier food more accessible without requiring a trip across town.

Unlike traditional online grocery ordering, Food Access LA focuses exclusively on locally grown fruits and vegetables.
Subscribers receive seasonal produce sourced from five to seven Southern California farms through recurring home deliveries.

Don’t Confuse It With California’s Existing Online EBT Program
Some headlines may give the impression that Californians can now use EBT online for the first time.
