Human remains and a body were found during the search for the workers allegedly kidnapped, linked to a mining project in the municipality of Concordia, Sinaloa. The ten employees have been identified as engineers and technical personnel.
The investigation involves agents from the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), in conjunction with the Mexican government’s Security Cabinet, who have carried out various procedures to advance the investigation.
The mining company Vizsla Silver reported the workers’ kidnapping on January 28, and since then, the case has been investigated by the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).
According to press release 062/26, issued on February 6 from Mexico City, the procedures carried out in conjunction with the Mexican government’s Security Cabinet have strengthened the case file and expanded the lines of inquiry.
As a result of these actions, carried out by elements of the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC), the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), the Secretariat of National Defense (Defensa) and the National Guard (GN), it was possible to establish that one of the bodies located has similar characteristics to one of the people reported as missing, so the respective work is being carried out to confirm his identity.
