Federal authorities arrested six members of the Tren de Aragua criminal organization in Mexico City, including logistics and financial operators, reported Omar García Harfuch, head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC).

Last December, the U.S. Department of Justice announced multiple indictments against more than 70 people, including leaders and members of the Tren de Aragua, designated a terrorist organization, linked to various violent crimes within and outside the United States, such as murder, robbery, extortion, kidnapping, money laundering, and drug trafficking.

The indictments come from five federal prosecutors’ offices: the District of Colorado, the District of Nebraska, the District of New Mexico, the Southern District of New York, and the Southern District of Texas. Since January 20, 2025, the Department has federally indicted more than 260 members of this criminal group, which operates in various Latin American countries.

This morning, through his Twitter account, García Harfuch posted a message stating that in Mexico City, “as a result of intelligence and investigative work, members of the Mexican Army (@Defensamx1), the Mexican Ministry of Public Security (@SSPCMexico), the Mexico City Police (@SSC_CDMX), the Attorney General’s Office (@FGRMexico), and the National Guard (@GN_MEXICO_) arrested six members of the Tren de Aragua criminal organization, linked to extortion, human trafficking, and drug trafficking.”

The official stated that among those arrested was Lesli Valeri “N,” identified as responsible for collecting payments related to sexual exploitation, drug distribution, and controlling female victims, as well as acting as a liaison with a local criminal group.

Also arrested was Bryan “N,” the organization’s financial operator, responsible for providing properties to house victims and members of the criminal group. He had an outstanding arrest warrant for human trafficking and organized crime.

Furthermore, the SSPC reported that in these actions against criminal groups, seven arrest warrants were served on individuals already incarcerated in different penitentiary centers.

These arrests were made during raids on properties located in the Valle Gómez neighborhood, in the Venustiano Carranza borough. Through a coordinated operation, two homes were searched, resulting in the arrest of Lesli “N” and four other individuals. Authorities seized doses of methamphetamine and marijuana, cell phones, a handgun, cash, computer equipment, and a notebook containing a list of names linked to extortion rackets targeting women in various parts of the city.
