The Veracruz State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) has announced a reward of up to 700,000 pesos for information leading to the whereabouts of Lenin Salvador Córdova Pérez, identified as the person responsible for the femicide of Dr. Cristina Ramos Argüello. A reward is also offered regarding his father, Lenin Yuri Córdova Santana, who is accused of concealment and related offenses for facilitating the suspect’s escape.
According to the investigation file, the incident took place inside the victim’s home in the municipality of Coatzacoalcos. The 33-year-old doctor was attacked by Lenin after she ended their relationship and refused to resume it; the perpetrator inflicted at least twelve wounds with a sharp-edged weapon, resulting in her death at the scene.
Following the crime, the assailant sought the assistance of his father, Lenin Yuri Córdova Santana, who allegedly provided logistical support to hide the suspect and help him evade justice. Both individuals are currently the subjects of active arrest warrants and are considered fugitives.
Given the gravity of the case and in an effort to expedite their apprehension, the FGE has authorized this financial reward for any member of the public who provides truthful, useful, and timely information that leads to the capture of both individuals.
Authorities guarantee anonymity and the confidentiality of any information provided through the state prosecutor’s official channels. This brutal incident adds to the growing demands for justice regarding gender-based assaults and acts of extreme violence in the state of Veracruz—a region where, concurrently, security forces have stepped up operational deployments along strategic highway stretches, such as Las Cumbres de Maltrata on the Orizaba-Puebla motorway, to counter the presence of criminal cells and ensure public order.
