Investigations into the mass killing of the Meléndez family continue to raise questions: What is known about the killer’s wife?
It was on September 1st that Diego Sebastián allegedly murdered Jonathan Meléndez—the keyboardist for the band Camilo Séptimo—and three other people at the Grand Viure de Bosque Esmeralda residential complex in Atizapán de Zaragoza.
Paola Mandri Figueroa is part of the detainee’s family and business circle; she is married to the accused and shares involvement in various commercial projects established several years ago.
The couple’s corporate history includes the creation of the company Fifty Fifty Total Production, S.A. de C.V. in March 2018 (registered under commercial folio N-2018021605) to provide advertising, marketing, audiovisual production, event, and equipment rental services.
Mandri’s name is also linked to the company Cloud BTL, S.A. de C.V., a firm appearing in case file 331/2020 before the 13th Civil Court for Oral Proceedings in Mexico City regarding voluntary jurisdiction proceedings initiated by Banco Mercantil del Norte during 2022 and 2023.
Alongside their advertising work, the couple diversified into the real estate and tourism sectors by managing vacation properties under the brands Plus Relax and Nomad P.M., covering areas such as Valle de Bravo, Tepoztlán, Cuernavaca, and Acapulco.
This business arm faced public complaints on July 21, 2026, when various users reported alleged financial irregularities and non-refundable cancellations involving sums of up to 500,000 pesos for unfulfilled contracts. Cases brought against the property managers included testimony from families reporting financial losses of nearly 400,000 pesos, stating that communication with the service providers was cut off and they were denied access to the accommodations.
In the marketing sector, online information links Mandri Figueroa to firms such as Shark BTL and Cloud BTL; regarding Shark BTL, records show a trademark registration application filed with the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property by Diego Sebastián ‘N’ in his individual capacity.
Mandri allegedly received a substantial bitcoin transfer following the deaths of the Meléndez family members—funds reportedly sent by her husband after he committed the crime.
