Family, friends, and residents of Oaxaca’s Mazateca region are appealing for help in the search for Iván Michel Atilano, a radio host for Evolución 98.5 FM in Huautla de Jiménez; he was last seen on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
“We are asking for the public’s help in locating Iván Michel Atilano, who was last seen on Tuesday, August 18. We have heard nothing from him since then and are concerned for his safety,” the broadcaster’s family stated.
Iván Michel Atilano, 47, a native of San Jerónimo Tecóatl, Oaxaca, was last seen on August 18, 2026, in the town center of Huautla de Jiménez in the Mazateca region of Oaxaca, according to the missing person notice.

At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a black T-shirt and navy blue jeans, and he was wearing eyeglasses with black frames.
According to the missing person notice issued by the Unit for the Search of Missing and Unlocated Persons (DNOL), Iván is of average build and approximately 1.70 meters tall. He has a fair complexion, an oval face, a broad forehead, thick eyebrows, large eyes, a medium-sized nose with a wide base, a medium-sized mouth, somewhat full lips, a square chin, and short, wavy brown hair.
The broadcaster’s disappearance has caused concern among his family, friends, and colleagues, who are urging the public to immediately report any information that could help locate him.
“If anyone has seen him or has information that could help locate him, please contact his family or the appropriate authorities,” they request.
