Mariana Echeverría revealed that during the two years in which she was part of the Guerra de Jokes tours, she was hired on at least three occasions for private presentations of alleged drug traffickers.

In an interview with Gustavo Adolfo Infante in The minute my destiny changed, the host recalled that she was taken with her eyes closed to unknown places and that only at the end of the show did they show her a briefcase full of money as a form of payment.

His testimony joins that of other Mexican comedians who, in different years, have reported having been hired for private parties for alleged members of drug trafficking. Brincos Dieras, Adrián Uribe and Jorge Falcón also publicly recounted similar experiences, from shows organized with deception to presentations in front of bosses at exclusive events. Other names, such as Teo González, have even appeared in invitations from bosses of dangerous organizations.

The host explained, in the interview with Infante, the mechanism with which these private presentations operated. “We had very heavy tours from people, yes, from drug traffickers, who hired us to go to their private events,” he said.

He explained that the secrecy was total from the transfer to the payment. “You arrived with your eyes closed to a place where you didn’t know where you were or who you were with and they took you out, they took your briefcase with the money,” he said.
