Carín León made a last-minute cancellation of his fourth concert in his Las Vegas Sphere residency on the night of Thursday, September 10, after mechanical failures in two separate planes prevented his travel from Hermosillo, Sonora.
The announcement was made while some audience members were already inside the venue, sparking complaints and boos from the crowd. The singer from Sonora announced that tickets would remain valid for the rescheduled date a year from now—September 15, 2027—and that a refund process had also been opened.
In a video posted to his social media, Carín León explained that the trouble began at the scheduled departure time, set for between 2:00 and 3:00 PM. “We had issues with the planes, starting with the first one,” the singer explained, noting that the aircraft experienced a brake failure before takeoff.
Faced with that setback, the team requested a second plane, which arrived at Hermosillo airport between 4:00 and 5:30 PM. “Then we had another failure—this time with the steering system; honestly, I don’t understand much about it, but the logs are there,” the artist noted, adding that he would provide evidence and testimony from pilots and airport personnel.
The Regional Mexican music artist stated that the decision not to fly was out of his team’s hands and expressed deep embarrassment. “The pilots wouldn’t let us fly; the relevant authorities wouldn’t let us fly,” he said in the message, emphasizing that safety was prioritized over the commitment to the scheduled date.
