U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has detained Enrique Martínez Chávez in California—a military officer linked to the case of the disappearance of the 43 students from Ayotzinapa.
According to his detention record, Martínez Chávez is currently in custody at the ICE Processing Center in Adelanto.
Martínez Chávez, 32, was arrested yesterday by ICE Los Angeles in Hawthorne, California, and will remain in custody until he can be deported to Mexico.
“Martínez is wanted in his home country, Mexico, for the forced disappearance of persons while he was a member of the Mexican Army,” U.S. authorities stated via X.
