Colima authorities announced the arrest of three individuals—including one identified as a priority target—and the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar) released a video documenting the transfer of a man identified as a key member of the Gulf Cartel who had also previously belonged to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).
The Government of Colima announced the man’s arrest on June 16, while the Navy shared footage showing security agents escorting Valdemar “N,” known by the alias “El Valdo.”
The Navy highlighted that the arrest was the result of naval intelligence operations and coordinated actions between the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) and the Attorney General’s Office (FGR).
“Following his capture, he was transferred to Mexico City to continue legal proceedings before the Attorney General’s Office,” stated the brief report shared by the Navy on its social media channels.
