Audias Flores Silva—alias “El Jardinero”—was detained in Nayarit; he is identified as one of the potential successors to Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, known as “El Mencho.”
The capture was announced by Omar García Harfuch on April 27. The official highlighted that the captured individual—considered one of the leaders of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG)—is wanted by authorities in both Mexico and the United States, with the latter seeking his extradition.
“For his capture, the U.S. government had offered a reward of 5 million dollars,” García Harfuch wrote on his social media channels.
The detention of “El Jardinero” was the result of operations carried out by personnel from the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar).
Audias Flores Silva’s arrest comes weeks after an operation in Jalisco that reportedly resulted in the death of “El Mencho”—the man who led the organization also known as the “Cartel of the Four Letters.”
