Lourdes Yhoana ‘N’ and Héctor Esaith ‘N’—mother and son linked to the “Doña Carlota” case—have been formally charged by a control judge in Chalco with home burglary. On August 8, a prosecutor from the State of Mexico Attorney General’s Office (FGJEM) filed the formal accusation; two days later, on August 10, the judge ordered them bound over for trial. Both will remain in pretrial detention while the supplementary investigation proceeds, a period set at two months.
The complaint leading to this new charge was filed by Carlota ‘N’ and her children, Mariana and Eduardo. They alleged that, in addition to occupying the property illegally, the accused stole belongings from inside the home, located in the Ex Hacienda de Guadalupe housing complex in Chalco, State of Mexico.
The control judge evaluated the evidence presented by the FGJEM, linked it to the reported events, and ordered justified pretrial detention for both defendants.
This decision to bind them over for trial marks the second criminal charge Lourdes Yhoana ‘N’ and Héctor Esaith ‘N’ face in connection with this same case. Since 2025, both had already been facing prosecution for the crime of unlawful dispossession (*despojo*), stemming from the alleged illegal occupation of the family property. With this new judicial ruling, the defendants now face cumulative charges of unlawful dispossession and home burglary.
