Following the arrest made on Thursday morning in the municipality of Escuinapa, Mexico’s Security Cabinet announced that the detainee is Misael “N”—alias “Güero Pink”—whom authorities consider a high-priority target due to his alleged involvement in criminal activities in southern Sinaloa.
According to the official statement, the alleged criminal leader is under investigation for his possible connection to kidnappings and homicides that have occurred in the state.
During the joint operation—led by personnel from the Secretariat of National Defense, the National Guard, and the Sinaloa Secretariat of Public Security—authorities also arrested Hilario “N,” the former director of Public Security and Municipal Traffic for Escuinapa.
Additionally, authorities seized long guns, magazines, live ammunition, tactical gear, and drugs as part of efforts to combat criminal groups operating in the southern region of the state.
The Government of Mexico reiterated that it will continue with coordinated operations to reduce crime rates and advance the goal of building peace in Sinaloa.
