Once again, hitmen from the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) appeared in a video—masked and carrying long guns—threatening extortionists in Mexico City and the State of Mexico, claiming that their own group does not engage in such practices.

This time, the message was directed at La Unión Tepito and the Tláhuac Cartel; according to the CJNG, these groups have been extorting people while claiming to act on behalf of the CJNG organization. The individual reading the statement declared that they would target all members of those groups.

Consequently, homicide rates in both regions are expected to rise following this declaration of war.

The video, shared on the social media platform X, also alleges that individuals nicknamed “El Yayo” and “El Masero”—acting under their leader, “Licenciado Vallarta”—seize real estate and even murder innocent people, all while using the CJNG name to carry out their activities.
