Danny Trejo has publicly stated that he does not support U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), despite appearing in *Pawn Shop*—a controversial upcoming film produced by Daily Wire Productions, a company owned by conservative commentator Ben Shapiro.

Trejo, 82, is a Hollywood actor known for his roles in films such as *Heat*, *From Dusk Till Dawn*, and the *Machete* franchise.

However, his involvement in his latest project sparked criticism after it was revealed that he would appear in *Pawn Shop*, a film set in Minneapolis in the wake of the fatal shooting of Renee Good by ICE agents earlier this year.

Danny Trejo clarifies his stance on ICE

In a statement posted on Instagram, Trejo began: “Hi everyone. I want to address some comments about me on social media.”

He then added: “Let me be clear. I am a proud Mexican who has always supported—and will always support—my community. Obviously, I also stand with immigrants. I do not support ICE. I know where I come from, and I know our struggles. I am an actor. My job is to tell a story. God bless, Danny.”

The actor’s statements drew mixed reactions on social media. One Instagram user asked: “If you don’t support ICE, why are you starring in a movie that promotes it?”

Another commented: “But you chose to be part of a pro-ICE movie; you didn’t have to do it.”

However, some fans came to Trejo’s defense. One of them wrote: “My God, guys, he’s an actor and making movies is a job… that doesn’t mean he supports ICE or anything like that… Yes, many of you are right, he could have turned down the job, but he needed it to get out of the house, hahaha.”
