A chase that took place this Tuesday night in Mazatlán’s Zona Dorada (Golden Zone) ended with a car crash and the arrest of several armed civilians who were allegedly carrying firearms.
According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred on Camarón Sábalo Avenue at the intersection with Tiburón Street, after federal agents spotted a white vehicle allegedly carrying several armed civilians.
This incident comes just hours after a shop was shot at on Avenida del Mar, right in the heart of the tourist district.
During the chase, the driver of the white vehicle lost control, striking the curb and subsequently overturning on the roadway; the vehicle came to a stop in front of the Conapesca offices.
The occupants were arrested following the accident, and the vehicle was seized. Preliminary reports also indicated the seizure of firearms.
No serious injuries resulting from the chase or the crash were reported at the scene.
