An assailant was beaten by the person in charge of a barbershop after attempting to rob him inside the establishment, located in the Villas de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción neighborhood in the northeastern part of the city of Aguascalientes.

The incident took place on October 26 at 7:23 PM and was captured by the establishment’s security camera.

The footage shows the barber attending to a client when a thief, who had been in the waiting area, stood up, announced a robbery, and made a gesture as if to pull a weapon from his waistband.

Before the criminal could draw what he was carrying, the barber—who has training in boxing—reacted instantly, landing an initial blow to the man’s face. The sequence shows the barber delivering at least 32 punches to the individual’s head and torso, leaving him completely unable to retaliate.

The intensity of the response prompted the client in the barber chair and another witness to intervene, pulling the barber away and putting an end to the beating.

Local residents and social media users identified the individual as a habitual street robber who operates in the neighborhood, specifically by accosting and robbing passersby. As of now, local authorities have not confirmed whether the thief has been arrested, nor whether a formal complaint has been filed with the Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding the incident.
