Jesús Aarón Olivas Cázares, a cousin of singer Alfredo Olivas, was murdered on the night of Monday, August 10, 2026, inside the Tacos Fermín restaurant in the La Cima neighborhood of Zapopan, Jalisco. A squad of eight men stormed the premises and opened fire on the diners. The attack left one other person dead and four wounded, with no arrests made; it adds to a series of assaults that have plagued the singer, his father, and his brother over the past eleven years.
The victim was 30 years old and sustained two gunshot wounds to the chest, one to the back, and one to the chin, as confirmed by the Jalisco State Attorney General’s Office. The second fatality was identified as Pedro Fidel “N,” aged 22. Four other people were injured, including another of the singer’s cousins, Vicente Trinidad Olivas Ortiz, who was transported to a Zapopan hospital in serious condition.
The other three wounded individuals were identified as José Antonio, 22; Elías Mauricio, 25, who suffered a wound to his left forearm; and Gustavo Adolfo de Jesús, 33, who sustained injuries to his right arm and left toe. They are young men originally from Sinaloa, Coahuila, and Jalisco.
The attackers arrived around 9:00 PM in three pickup trucks. They were wearing tactical gear and carrying semi-automatic long guns. They exited the vehicles, entered the establishment, and fired a burst of shots directly at a group of diners. Panic gripped the restaurant; workers and customers scrambled for cover. The gunmen left, got back into their vehicles, and fled before the first units from the Zapopan Municipal Police, State Police, and Mexican Army could arrive.
