A young woman executed this Monday afternoon outside a flower shop in the Tierra Blanca neighborhood of Culiacán, Sinaloa, has been officially identified by her relatives to the authorities.
The victim was identified as Rubí Delaine Jiménez, 23 years old. According to information gathered by local law enforcement, she lived in the Alameda residential area and worked at a beauty salon in the metropolitan area.
The violent incident took place outside a flower shop located on Álvaro Obregón Avenue, between Abogados and Agricultores streets, directly across from the Agustina Ramírez elementary school.
According to police reports, the young woman was sitting on a bench near the shop when hitmen approached and executed her, subsequently fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.
After receiving a report of gunfire via the emergency line, Red Cross paramedics rushed to the scene of the attack; however, upon attempting to administer first aid, they confirmed that the victim showed no vital signs due to the severity of her injuries.
The young woman’s body was recovered by personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office and transported to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) facilities. On Tuesday, her relatives appeared before the Public Prosecutor’s Office to formally identify her and claim the body for funeral arrangements. Authorities are keeping the investigation file open to determine the motive behind the femicide.
