Three alleged members of the Caborca Cartel were arrested in the municipality of Jilotzingo, in a coordinated operation between the State of Mexico Security Secretariat, the Mexican Navy, and the municipal police of Atizapán de Zaragoza.
According to official sources, one of those arrested identified himself as the grandson of Caro Quintero.
The individuals were identified as Adal Eduardo “N,” 24 years old; José David “N,” 26 years old; and Luis Alfonso “N,” 23 years old.
Their arrest stemmed from a report received through the C5 emergency center, indicating a person injured by a gunshot.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers from the State Security Secretariat spotted a vehicle matching the description provided in connection with the incident, traveling at high speed. The officers immediately initiated a pursuit that led to the community of Rancho Blanco, where the three individuals were apprehended with the assistance of the Atizapán de Zaragoza Police.
Among the men’s belongings, a loaded magazine containing 12 rounds of ammunition and 18 plastic bags containing a green, leafy substance resembling marijuana were found.
The detainees are being investigated for drug-related offenses and their possible involvement in extortion.
