The capture of José Luis Sánchez Valencia, known as “Chalamán,” near Benito Juárez Avenue in Colima, marked a new blow to the structure of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).
According to the official statement, this operation, the result of collaboration between various Mexican agencies, led to the arrest of one of the criminal organization’s main operatives and a close relative of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias “Mencho.”
The operation, coordinated by the Security Cabinet and supported by the National Intelligence Center, is in response to a provisional arrest warrant for extradition to the United States for public health offenses and criminal association.
