According to initial reports, the official’s truck was attacked with a grenade, resulting in his death at the scene.
Meanwhile, the Tamaulipas State Attorney General’s Office reported that the vehicle caught fire on Hidalgo Boulevard in Reynosa.
They also indicated that they are coordinating with the Attorney General’s Office to collaborate on any necessary investigations.

The Tamaulipas State Attorney General’s Office announced in a statement that, “as a result of the events in which a person, presumably a federal public servant, lost his life, whose vehicle caught fire on Hidalgo Boulevard in Reynosa,” coordination has been established with the Attorney General’s Office to collaborate in the investigations, should it be required.
