A confusion is one of the first lines of investigation that became known about the kidnapping of four US citizens in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, last Friday.
According to military sources, the Americans entered the country because one of them underwent a surgical procedure with a doctor who had already treated him, but they were confused by a criminal group.
According to the first reports, the four kidnapped Americans were located, two of them dead, this Tuesday in a wooden house in a lagoon known as the “Lagunona” in the ejido El Tecolote in Matamoros.
One of the four Americans kidnapped in Matamoros told Mexican authorities that one of his captors told them they had been confused with the people they were looking for, according to sources consulted by the Mexican press.
It was learned that on the day of the events they were persecuted by a gray Honda, and later by a sand-colored Tahoe-type truck and other vehicles.
In the place where they were located, a person who is allegedly linked to the criminal group was secured.
