The disappearance of Marilyn Jolette Chio García, a 17-year-old student in the Coyoacán borough, has kept her family and community on high alert since May 12.
The teenager left for CETIS 2 David Alfaro Siqueiros, but was denied entry to the school, and her whereabouts have been unknown ever since. The Mexico City Attorney General’s Office is continuing its investigation, while family and friends demand answers, and the search continues in the streets and on social media.
According to the young woman’s family, on the morning of May 12, Marilyn Jolette left her home to go to CETIS 2, where she was to submit school documents. Upon arrival, she was denied entry because she arrived after the permitted time.
The Amber Alert indicates that she was last seen at 7:05 a.m. in the Del Carmen neighborhood. Around 3:00 p.m., she sent a message to a friend saying she hadn’t been allowed in, but that she would see her later. That message was the last confirmed contact before she disappeared.
After losing communication, her family began searching for her in nearby streets, hospitals, and places she frequented. When they found nothing, they went to the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office (FGJCDMX) to report her disappearance.
