The Jalisco State Attorney General’s Office confirmed on Thursday, August 6, that at least two or three additional individuals—beyond the sole person arrested so far—were likely involved in the femicide of influencer Valeria Márquez, which took place on May 13, 2025, in Zapopan.
The investigation, which comprises nine volumes and over 350 pages, remains ongoing, and authorities are working to identify and apprehend everyone involved. The case file also includes the analysis of more than 500 hours of video footage from C5 cameras and private surveillance systems, as well as the analysis of communication logs to locate the suspects, stated State Prosecutor Salvador González de los Santos.
The official noted that the investigation took 14 months to yield the first arrest because it was necessary to consolidate the inquiries and secure judicial authorizations to obtain legally admissible evidence.
