U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Ronald Johnson stated that bilateral security cooperation between the administrations of President Donald Trump and President Claudia Sheinbaum continues to yield concrete results, noting that since January 2025, U.S. authorities have apprehended more than 450 fugitives wanted by the Mexican justice system.
In a message shared on social media, the diplomat highlighted that this coordination has strengthened the fight against crime and facilitated the handover of individuals sought by Mexican authorities to face legal proceedings for various offenses.
In his post, Ronald Johnson affirmed that the joint effort between the two governments reflects a commitment to combating organized crime and preventing individuals wanted by the law from finding refuge outside of Mexico.
“Cooperation between President Donald Trump and President Claudia Sheinbaum continues to deliver results. Since January 2025, U.S. authorities have detained more than 450 fugitives wanted by Mexico,” the ambassador wrote.
