Ulises Garduño, alias “Ule”—a member of the La Unión Tepito criminal group who operates primarily in the Cuauhtémoc and Venustiano Carranza boroughs as security chief for Irving Jonathan Herrera Sánchez (alias “El Irving”)—was arrested in possession of a fragmentation grenade and various quantities of drugs.
The arrest took place at the intersection of Eje 3 Oriente Ingeniero Eduardo Molina and Héroe de Nacozari Street in the Penitenciaria neighborhood. Officers located him inside a sand-colored SUV while he was handling small plastic bags of the type used for drug sales.
Officers intercepted the individual and, during a preventive search, discovered a fragmentation grenade, a package wrapped in packing tape and a plastic bag containing marijuana, 21 small bags of the same substance, 100 small black bags containing cocaine, and two cell phones.
Police arrested “El Irving’s” security chief and transferred him to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, where his legal status will be determined.
