The National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) presented a report today, May 11, 2026, regarding the Extreme Poverty Lines by Income, in which it indicated that the cost of goods within the basic food basket has increased; here, we tell you which items have become the most expensive.
According to INEGI, the Extreme Poverty Lines by Income—specifically those pertaining to the basic food basket—stood at 1.3% in rural areas and 1.1% in urban areas.
