The Jalisco State Attorney General’s Office is conducting a search operation to locate three men—members of the same family—who disappeared in succession last June in the municipality of Teocaltiche. Despite deployments and the execution of court orders in the area, authorities have been unable to determine their whereabouts.
Blanca Trujillo, the Special Prosecutor for Missing Persons, confirmed that investigations are ongoing and revealed that the primary line of inquiry points to activities related to small-scale drug dealing.
According to the report presented by the state agency, the victims were formally identified as José Manuel Gómez Núñez, Érick Arturo Gómez Aguilera, and Antonio de Jesús Silvestre Gómez. Their disappearances occurred in two separate incidents just days apart:
First incident (Early June): The first family member was last seen leaving his home on a motorcycle; contact was lost immediately thereafter.
Second incident (Five days later): In a subsequent event, heavily armed individuals intercepted and abducted the other two family members, carrying out a violent double abduction.
The special prosecutor detailed that, as part of search and intelligence efforts, investigative agents have executed search warrants at at least three properties located at strategic points in Teocaltiche. However, inspections of these locations have not yielded sufficient leads to locate the three men.
Finally, Trujillo noted that the investigation focuses primarily on the crime of small-scale drug dealing, as evidence gathered suggests that one of the victims was allegedly involved in the sale and distribution of illicit substances in the Altos de Jalisco region.
