The U.S. government has launched a new offensive against the Sinaloa Cartel—one that targets not only its leaders and direct operatives, but also those in their immediate circle: family members, business partners, and trusted associates who, without ever wielding a weapon or trafficking drugs themselves, keep alive the infrastructure that sustains one of the world’s most powerful criminal organizations.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed the suspension of more than 75 visas belonging to individuals linked to the Sinaloa Cartel. This measure falls under Executive Order 14059, a legal instrument designed to combat transnational criminal organizations involved in drug trafficking.

“The government will continue to protect Americans from dangerous narco-terrorists and deadly drugs,” Marco Rubio wrote following the announcement of the measure.

The objective of this action is not only to bar these individuals from entering U.S. territory, but also to dismantle the support networks that enable the cartel to operate from the shadows.
