Hitmen executed Sharon Flores, known as “La Pelos”—an extortionist for the criminal group La Unión de Tepito—along with her three-year-old son, who was wearing a costume to go trick-or-treating. The incident took place on the night of Sunday, November 1, in the Morelos neighborhood of the Tepito district, within the Cuauhtémoc borough. At the time of the attack, the child was dressed in a costume for the traditional *calaverita* (trick-or-treating) custom. “La Pelos’s” partner, Marvin Pacheco—also a member of La Unión—had been murdered in 2023, while she was pregnant with the child who was killed.

The event occurred at the intersection of Peñón and Tenochtitlán streets. According to Mexico City authorities, the victims were traveling on a scooter when armed individuals intercepted them and opened fire at point-blank range.

Following the attack, local residents assisted the victims and transported them to a nearby hospital. Shortly after their arrival, medical staff confirmed that both had died. Initial reports suggest that a cousin, identified as José Luis Rodríguez Rivera—known as “El Huevo” and a member of the rival group “La Anti-Unión”—was responsible for the execution.

Officers from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC-CDMX) arrived at the scene to cordon off the area and secure the spent shell casings. According to witness accounts gathered by the police, the assailants fled the scene on an electric bicycle.
