In the municipality of Colima, Colima, personnel from the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC)—in coordination with the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA), the Navy, the National Guard, and the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE)—arrested Rosa Estela, identified as a member of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), and Edgar Oswaldo, alias “El Puma,” identified as a coordinator of hitmen for the Independent Cartel of Colima, also known as “Los Mezcales.”
The arrests were carried out during simultaneous intelligence operations and strategic raids conducted in neighborhoods across the metropolitan area.
According to investigations by the authorities, both individuals are drivers of violence, responsible for coordinating armed attacks, extortion (specifically the collection of “protection” payments), and the distribution of narcotics within the state.
Rosa Estela and Edgar Oswaldo (“El Puma”)—along with the seized weapons, vehicles, and narcotics—were transported under a high-security escort and incorporated into the corresponding investigative file, now under the purview of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which will determine their legal status.
