A Flydubai plane flying from Dubai to Tel Aviv made an emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday after issuing distress signals during the flight. The incident triggered security protocols in Israel due to initial suspicions of a possible hijacking, although Israeli security sources later indicated that the incident was not related to a takeover of the aircraft.
Flight FZ1073, bound for Ben Gurion Airport, was diverted to Saudi territory and landed in Tabuk. The airline reported that all passengers are safe and that its teams are working with authorities to determine the circumstances of the incident. Flydubai has not yet confirmed the cause that forced the change in the flight’s destination.
According to passenger accounts published by *The Times of Israel*, a crew member allegedly stabbed the pilot and attempted to cause the aircraft to crash. “We heard screams; the plane plunged,” recounted some travelers, who stated that the aircraft descended about 15,000 feet before several people subdued the alleged attacker.
