The municipal president of Taxco de Alarcón, Juan Andrés Vega Carranza, reappeared on Tuesday night after having been kidnapped along with his father, Juan Vega Arredondo, on April 11.
Both were found alive after a coordinated operation between federal and state forces, with the participation of more than 500 elements. The rescue occurred in the municipality of Zumpahuacán, State of Mexico, on the border with Guerrero.
In a video published on his Facebook account, Vega Carranza first thanked God: “In the hardest moments one clings to one’s faith. And today I can say with peace of mind that my family and I are fine.”
