The crime occurred at a family ranch located in the community of Texcalapa. Among the victims were six members of the same family and four ranch workers, as well as three minors, one of them a one-month-old baby, a fact that has shocked the Mixteca region of Puebla and the public in general.
Prosecutor Idamis Pastor Betancourt confirmed the brutality with which the multiple homicide was perpetrated. Forensic experts processed the property and collected a significant number of spent shell casings from high-caliber weapons, revealing that the attack was direct and planned against the victims. The walls and windows of the property showed numerous bullet holes from long guns, evidence of the brutality of the attack.
In an interview, Pastor Betancourt indicated that initial indications point to family conflicts as the origin of the attack. However, she specified that the ministerial staff is not ruling out any line of investigation and continues to collect testimonies from family members and neighbors to strengthen the case file.
The official emphasized that from the moment the events were reported, the Prosecutor’s Office went to the scene, recovered the ten bodies, and is conducting a thorough sweep of the area to secure clues and ballistic evidence.
Despite the security deployment activated since the early hours of Sunday, involving the State Police, Municipal Police, Mexican Army, and National Guard, no one has been arrested in connection with these events, the prosecutor acknowledged.
Nevertheless, Pastor Betancourt was emphatic on this point: the agencies are maintaining joint operations to locate both the perpetrators and those who ordered the crime, and she stressed that there will be no impunity.
