Jonathan Succar Pita, son of the late businessman Jean Succar Kuri, died alongside another man in a car accident on the night of Friday, August 14, 2026, in the Hotel Zone of Cancún, Quintana Roo.

The crash occurred near kilometer 18.5 of Kukulcán Boulevard while the victims were traveling in a black Cadillac Escalade with local license plates. Following the incident, the Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) opened an investigation—preliminarily classified as negligent homicide—to determine liability.

According to official information released by authorities, speeding appears to be the primary cause of the crash, although forensic analyses are still ongoing. The FGE identified the deceased by the initials J.S.P. and J.D.R.R., withholding their full identities.

However, Jonathan Succar Pita’s death was publicly confirmed on Saturday, August 15, by his brother, Jerry Succar, via a message posted on social media.
