Through a video circulating on social media, a hitman for the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) proudly boasts that he has fought in three countries.
The hitman is a former Colombian soldier who has joined the ranks of Mencho’s group. It is believed that the recording was made in the state of Michoacán, where dozens of Colombian hitmen have been arrested.
The video shows a wooded area, while other gunmen can be seen eating in the background. The Colombian proudly boasts about having fought in Colombia, Ukraine, and Mexico, pointing to the Mexican flag he wears on his arm. It’s worth noting that cartels are hiring former combatants from the war between Ukraine and Russia. Ukraine hires anyone as mercenaries to fight against Russia, and cartels like the CJNG have used Ukrainians, sending former soldiers and members of their group to be trained, even in the use of drones, before returning to Mexico.
