Three violent incidents occurring between Wednesday, September 30, and the early hours of this Saturday affected members of the same family in the municipality of Culiacán, Sinaloa, resulting in two deaths and the disappearance of a minor.

The chain of events began on the night of Wednesday, September 30, in the Punta Azul residential area, south of the state capital.
Around 8:30 PM, hitmen stormed the area and abducted Lucas Abel—a 43-year-old carpenter—and his teenage son, 16-year-old Sergio Yahir.

Subsequently, on the afternoon of Friday, October 2, prison authorities reported finding the body of Abel Alexander—aged between 20 and 27—inside a cell in Module 2 of the Aguaruto Penitentiary Center.
The young man, formally identified as the son and brother of the victims abducted in Punta Azul, was an inmate at the facility; he was found suspended from a structure, an incident regarding which the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) is pursuing lines of investigation to determine the cause of death.

Finally, during the early hours of this Saturday, Lucas Abel’s body was found discarded alongside the Benito Juárez bypass—known locally as “La Costerita”—south of Culiacán. The victim showed severe signs of torture and was found with his hands and feet bound when security forces discovered the body.
