Federal forces discovered a shop selling marijuana-infused treats in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, following a raid carried out on October 1 in the Real del Valle neighborhood. Personnel from the Mexican Army, the National Guard, and the Attorney General’s Office participated in the operation, which was authorized by a search warrant.
According to information released by the Sinaloa Secretariat of Public Security, the operation was supported by the state police’s Special Operations Group (GOES).
The operation was part of a series of blows dealt to organized crime in Sinaloa. That same day, in Culiacán, military personnel seized 1,320 kilograms of methamphetamine linked to “Los Mayos”—a faction of the Sinaloa Cartel—with an estimated value of over 350 million pesos.
