On the night of Tuesday, October 27, a heavily armed group stormed a sushi restaurant in the Colinas del Rey residential area—located in the southern part of the city of Culiacán—and abducted a couple who were dining there.

The victims have been identified as 38-year-old Norma Verónica Manjarrez Sarabia and Víctor Alonso Lizárraga Castro (his exact age has not yet been confirmed).

According to police reports, the incident took place between approximately 8:30 p.m. and 8:50 p.m. inside the “Levoy” sushi restaurant, situated at the intersection of Privada Cerro Santa Isabel and Cerro de la Noria, in the aforementioned residential neighborhood.

Eyewitnesses reported that several heavily armed gunmen, wearing tactical gear, entered the establishment violently. They held the diners and staff at gunpoint, forced the couple out of the premises, and compelled them into a vehicle, in which the perpetrators then fled to an unknown destination.

Following an alert to emergency services, police units and the National Guard arrived at the scene to secure the area and conduct initial interviews. Meanwhile, forensic experts and agents from the Sinaloa State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) processed the establishment to collect evidence and open an investigation file regarding the crime of unlawful deprivation of liberty.
