In an operation coordinated by the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC)—led by Omar García Harfuch—federal forces dealt a strategic blow to the command structure of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) with the arrest of Guadalupe Ahumada Villegas, “M4.”

The suspect is classified as a high-priority target and a major driver of violence, with operational influence in the states of Nayarit, Tlaxcala, and Puebla. He assumed command of one of the CJNG’s armed wings following the handover of Audias Flores Silva (“El Jardinero”) to the Mexican government by Juan Carlos Valencia González (“El 03”), the stepson of “El Mencho.”
The arrest of “M4” was achieved following intelligence operations that led to seven simultaneous raids across the state of Nayarit.

According to reports presented this morning by the head of the SSPC, Ahumada Villegas assumed a high-level leadership role within the criminal organization following the arrest of Audias Flores Silva (“El Jardinero”) three months ago; the latter had previously taken the helm of the criminal group after the death of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias “El Mencho.”

Intelligence investigations revealed that “M4” coordinated various violent cells dedicated to high-impact crimes, extending his operational reach from the country’s western region to central Mexico, specifically covering Tlaxcala and Puebla.
